The Board. Moved to Committed:FL S Vladimir Emilien. New Information:MD RB/Ath Tavon Austin. I was about ready to remove him, but not it looks like he'll visit December 12th. AZ OL Taylor Lewan. Visited Minnesota this past weekend. Maybe helping Michigan in this one: the Gophers just lost their OL coach. MI DT William Campbell. Bama-related mention. IN LB Commit Jordan Barnes. Same as above ( link the same as well). FL LB Commit Brandin Hawthorne. Visiting Pitt this weekend (info in header). OH CB Commit Justin Turner. Not losing faith in Michigan. Removed:FL S Jonathan Scott. No apparent interest. SC S DJ Swearinger. South Carolina commit. Etc.:UNC CB Commit Josh Hunter intends to visit Ann Arbor. I had been ready to eliminate OH OL Marcus Hall, because he had been naming a top group without us, but now it looks like he's planning a Michigan visit. I still think the Wolverines don't stand a chance, but he'll remain on the board until they're officially eliminated. GA WR Jamal Patterson remains " 100% committed" to Stanford. The Board lives here. Going against the requests of commenters, I'm going to split up 2009 and 2010 updates for now. I think the main fear was that I would be giving less information as a result, but I think it will allow me to give more information on each class. New Information:MD RB Tavon Austin. Sets the state rushing record. MN WR Commit Bryce McNeal. Planning to take visits elsewhere. This includes Florida (info in headers). His commitment appears to be soft, so keep an eye on him. OH OL Marcus Hall. Selected for the Army Game. Michigan is likely on the outside looking in at his recruitment, however. MD DE Jason Ankrah. Enjoyed Michigan visit. MD LB Jelani Jenkins. Fluff relating to the ESPN2 game last week. GA S/QB Donavan Tate. Plans on officially visiting Michigan. Odds of his choosing football over baseball are still pretty slim. MD CB Travis Hawkins. Standard post-visit positivity towards Michigan (info in header). Similar vibes here (link same as above). FL CB Angelo Hadley. Michigan is in his final four. Removed:VA DE Will Hill. He is down to a final group that does not include Michigan, after canceling a UM visit last weekend. Etc.:Is that a potential walk-on I'm sensing? Analysis:Very Maryland-centric update today. Hawkins and Ankrah both seemed to really dig the Ann Arbor experience. Bryce McNeal's softening of commit status is somewhat troubling, though I still expect that he ends up in blue. The Board misses you. You should really visit every once in a while. New Information:FL RB Vincent Smith. His decision will be between Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Tennessee. Things still lookin' good. OH OL Marcus Hall. Preseason O-line MVP of his league. SC OL Quinton Washington. A top 10 player in the lowcountry. Whatever the lowcountry is. PA LB Dan Mason. Fluff. AL CB Dre Kirkpatrick. It will be a surprise for him to end up anywhere other than Bama, especially with all the time he spends on their campus. FL CB Angelo Hadley. He has a top/final 5 (Mich, Aub, Fla, UNC, UGa). And fluff is written about him. Removed:UT OL Xavier Sua'filo. After expressing early interest in Michigan, there has been no sign that he is still looking at the Wolverines. WA DT Deandre Coleman. Washington commit. AZ DE Corey Adams. It seems like he is down to OSU and a couple west coast schools. There hasn't been any Michigan mention in a while. PA DE/DT Tyrone Ezell. Pitt commit. MI DE Justice Akuezue. CMU commit. CA LB John Michael Davis. Same situation as Xavier Sua'Filo. No mutual interest == removal. MI S Brock Reynolds. I hear almost nothing about this guy, much less articles about his Michigan interest. OH CB Tony Graham. Same situation as Brock Reynolds. Etc.:The Free Press explores the situation with Michigan's scholarship numbers for the 2009 class. The ESPN high school football TV schedule is different every time I look, but here is the most updated master list of games. Note that the Pahokee-Olive Branch game is not there. There is no kickers section on the recruiting board, but TX PK Anthony Fera has been offered (info in header). When I pulled guys off the list for lack of mutual interest, top players got a little more benefit of the doubt in staying on the board. Jamaal Berry is now the guy teetering on the edge, since he continues to list Michigan despite being all but committed to the Buckeyes. The Board is here.
Moved to Committed:FL S Mike Jones. Also, he apparently plans to enroll early. New Information:MI QB/S Thomas Gordon. Fluff from the News. MD RB Tavon Austin. He plans to take an official to Michigan. MD OL Brennan Williams. Selected for the Army Game. OH OL Marcus Hall. Michigan is in his top 5 ( audio). GA LB Devekaeyan Lattimore. Wants to take a Michigan visit. MD LB Jelani Jenkins. Fluff with a Michigan mention. FL CB Angelo Hadley. Michigan in his top 7. Removed:FL CB Brandon McGee. He is deciding soon, and Michigan doesn't appear on his favorites list. Etc.:Fluff on TX QB commit Shavodrick Beaver. Labels: angelo hadley, brandon mcgee, brennan williams, devekeyan lattimore, football, jelani jenkins, marcus hall, mike jones, recruiting, shavodrick beaver, tavon austin, thomas gordon

The board. You may notice it's been reorganized so the offered prospects are at the top of each table. If I missed anything, let me know in the comments to this post so I can fix it. Added:NC DB Terry Shankle. He's been offered (info in header). New Information:TN OT Alex Bullard. Top 6 includes Michigan. Tennessee with the edge currently. AZ DE Craig Roh. He will play in the ESPN Game. SC DB Damario Jeffrey. Top 10 does not include Michigan. OH OT Marcus Hall. His top 6 has changed but still includes Michigan. IL OG Chris Watt r ecruiting fluff. No Michigan mention (but no mention of OSU, either). He's #1 in Illinois. Etc.: Freep's top 5 instaters. Lots of Michigan targets expected for the OSU Nike. Happy 2nd birthday Michigan Football Saturdays. Labels: alex bullard, chris watt, craig roh, damario jeffery, football, marcus hall, recruiting, terry shankle

I'm digging this Monday-Friday recruiting update schedule when there isn't a ton going on. I'll probably keep to it except in the case of big news like commitments. Speaking of which... a couple of bigtime visitors are coming in the weekend, including Bryce McNeal. I wouldn't be shocked if McNeal pulled the trigger for Michigan. On to the update... ( full board here). Moved to committed: OH RB Fitzgerald Toussaint. This is what I get for publishing before doing all my due diligence. New Information:SC QB (DB to most other schools) Stephon Gilmore says that Tennessee is his favorite, but he isn't close to finalizing a decision. OK RB David Oku. Pontificates on Michigan and Ohio State. By the way, he has a top 6 with neither in-state school. IL OL Chris Watt visited Notre Dame for the 7 millionth time, I think it's fair to say they're his favorite. FL QB Aaron Murray is the first player selected to the Elite 11 camp. OH OL Marcus Hall. Ohio State, Southern Cal, and Illinois are his favorites. LA DT Chris Davenport has a top two (LSU and USC) and a decision schedule (Spetember or October). He is a candidate for removal soon, since the Wolverines appear to be out of the race. Most importantly, this:TX QB Shavodrick Beaver is really wanted by TCU. A quote from Beaver: "I was just about to make a decision here for TCU, but now I don't know... but now that Michigan has offered that made me want to change my mind." Sounds like Michigan and TCU are atop his list. The entirety of the "open letter" response to Beaver's comment (warning: it's really stupid): "Dear Shavodrick,
Its COLD as HELLLLL in Michigan and its a long ways from Wichita Falls. Don't get wrapped up in all the hype. The new TCU offense will be a mirror image of Michigan's and you WILL get playing time here instantly. Do the coaches in Ann Arbor even know how to get to Wichita Falls? No they have no idea. They offered just to offer. Don't let them cloud your vision of being a superstar here at TCU. *See University of Texas if you want an example of players told one thing and receive another. Transferring after finding out too late would really suck and sitting out a year would suck too. Plus, your mom can watch you EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND here in Fort Worth.
Your future biggest fan,
Zammers" - First things first: it does indeed get cold in Michigan. That may be the only part of the letter that makes sense (then there are the counterarguments of having to play in the cold in the NFL, non-conference CFB games being played in cold weather (or even conference games for about half of the Mountain West), and the fact that summer camp in the south is brutal).
- The new TCU offense will be a mirror image of Michigan's, eh? Then why would you play at a less prestigious school with a coach who didn't invent the scheme?
- Instant playing time? Have you seen Michigan's depth chart? Offering just to offer? I think it might be offering because Michigan needs a good dual-threat QB.
- Superstar at TCU != Superstar at Michigan.
- What does UT have to do with players being told one thing and experiencing another at Michigan? And what, exactly, are you saying that Rich Rodriguez will lie about?
Again, dumb. Removed:NV DE Justin Chaisson. Committed to Oklahoma. Etc.: A depressing comparison of all the recruits at OSU's spring game as opposed to Michigan's. And Alabama's. How about a hundred at Nebraska? Freep recruiting articles: Sam Webb, Quarterbacks (albeit with a limited number of targets). The Columbus Dispatch covers Michigan recruiting. Please, try to convince me they don't have a complex of some sort. MVictors covers the kickoff the The Official Rich Rodriguez Whirlwind Tour. Board. A lot of removals on this week's board. In the next week or so, I'll roll out a new version of the board with decision/enrollment timeframes, offer status, and maybe another couple things. Added: TN WR Marlon Brown. He has a Michigan offer, and will likely end up a top-25 national player. LA WR Rueben Randle. He also has a UM offer. OH OT Marcus Hall. Not sure we have a great chance with this guy, considering his school (Cleveland Glenville). He has been offered. AZ DE Devon Kennard. He has reportedly been offered. FL DB/QB Brandon McGee. He has an offer now as well. Interesting to see which position he wants to play in college. VA CB Javanti Sparrow. Teammate of QB Kevin Newsome. Removed: TX QB Russell Shepard. A single tear is still on my cheek. TX RB Hasan Lipscomb. He was really only included because I thought he might commit to LSU, convincing Shepard to go to Baton Rouge. Hey, I had it backwards! MI RB Larry Caper. He is now somewhat committed to THE Michigan State University. New Information: VA QB Tajh Boyd. MVP of the Air7QBU quarterbacks camp. A few new articles about prospects receiving offers, so lots of new prospects added to the board. Larry Caper to MSU hurts a bit, because he'll be one of the top couple in-state prospects, but he had gotten too big to be a fit for the RR spread. Craig Loston is tenuously still included on the board, because I feel he may follow Shepard to LSU, for their dream class.
